SHREDDED CHEESE

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here.

FAQ
We do not recommend freezing any of our dairy products, including shredded Mozzarella cheese, shredded Cheddar cheese, or any of our shredded cheeses.

While freezing shredded cheese poses no food safety risk, it can significantly affect quality—including taste, texture, and melt performance.

Frozen shredded cheese may clump, dry out, or melt unevenly, including Cheddar cheese, Mozzarella cheese, and other Armstrong shredded cheeses.
Because of its fine format, shredded cheese—including shredded mozzarella, shredded Cheddar cheese, and blends like Mozzarella Cheddar cheese—melts faster and more evenly than block cheese.

Block cheese tends to melt more slowly and slightly more smoothly, while shredded cheese melts rapidly, making it ideal for pizzas, casseroles, pasta, and gratins.
The white coating often seen on shredded cheese, grated cheese, or shredded Mozzarella is perfectly normal and indicates the cheese is being kept at its best.

This coating comes from cellulose (an anti-caking agent that prevents clumping) and natamycin (a natural preservative).
Whether you’re using shredded Cheddar cheese, shredded Mozzarella, or Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese blends, these ingredients help maintain quality and freshness.
Proper storage helps maintain the quality of all cheeses—whether it’s shredded cheese or block cheeses like old Cheddar cheese.

Storage tips:
- Keep your refrigerator between 1–4°C (34–38°F).
- Store cheeses in their original packaging until opened.
- After opening, carefully close the shredded cheese's zipper seal and place it in the meat or vegetable drawer, where the temperature is most stable.
